How do I disable my 3rd party plugins (such as ad blockers, search bars, easy accessibility to emails) in my web browser?

Third party plugins are small programs that are added into your web browser to provide additional functionality (such as ad blockers, search bars or easy access to your email). Sometimes they may interfere in the operation of other websites or conflict with other plugins that are installed.

To disable third party plug-ins, please use the appropriate instructions for your web browser below:

Edge
  • Open Microsoft Edge
  • Select Extensions located to the right of your browser address bar
  • Select Manage Extensions
  • Select the toggle next to the extension you want to turn off

If the error does not occur, it was caused by a plug-in. You may determine which plug-in is causing the error by re-enabling the plug-ins and disabling them one by one. When the problem occurs again, you will have found the offending plug-in.

Google Chrome
  • Open Chrome
  • Select More > More Tools > Extensions
  • On the extension you want to remove, click Remove
  • Confirm by clicking remove
  • Once you have completed this, please restart your browser and try the entry again. If the error does not occur, it was caused by a plug-in or extension.

You may determine which plug-in is causing the error by re-enabling them one by one in the above plug-ins page and trying to enter. When the problem occurs again, you will have found the offending plug-in.

Firefox
  • Click on the Menu button
  • Click Add-ons and themes > Extensions
  • Scroll through the list of extensions
  • Click the "Disable" button beside each item you wish to disable
  • To reenable the extension, find it in the list of extensions and click the toggle for the corresponding extension
  • Once you have completed this, please restart your browser and try the entry again. If the error does not occur, it was caused by a plug-in or extension.

You may determine which plug-in is causing the error by re-enabling them one by one in the Add-ons Manager and trying to enter. When the problem occurs again, you will have found the offending plug-in.

Safari on Mac OSX
  • Choose Safari > Settings (Or Preferences), then click extensions
  • To turn off an extension, deselect its checkbox
  • To uninstall an extension, select the extension and click the uninstall button
  • If you can't determine what an extension does, or you don't expect to use it again, you should uninstall it
  • Once you have completed this, please restart your browser and try the entry again. If the error does not occur, it was caused by a plug-in or extension.

You may determine which plug-in is causing the error by re-enabling them one by one in the Extensions page and trying to enter. When the problem occurs again, you will have found the offending plug-in.
